Gemini Industries Inc. seeks a Publication Specialist Level 2 Magazine Editor to oversee the complete magazine lifecycle, ensuring timely, accurate editorial output that meets government style and accessibility standards.

The role requires senior-level experience in editorial management, strong coordination across authors, designers, and legal reviewers, and a proven ability to drive quality control and production schedules in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years in editorial and publication management.
• Proven track record producing a periodical, preferably a technical or specialty publication.
• Advanced editing: substantive editing, copyediting, proofreading, and publication-cycle management.
• Deep understanding of Section 508 accessibility and Federal publishing standards.
• Ability to manage complex approval workflows and coordinate between technical and creative teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide Lifecycle & Production Management: oversee magazine lifecycle, production schedules, and article version control with an extensive approval chain.
• Provide Editorial & Writing Support: high-level editorial support, content development, promo materials, strict version control and QA throughout editing and production.
• Act as Stakeholder Liaison: coordinate between writers, layout/design teams, reviewers, and legal counsel.
• Ensure Compliance & Quality Control: ensure articles and magazine adhere to GPO Style Manual, Chicago Manual of Style, and Section 508 accessibility; secure sign-offs.
• Provide Logistical Oversight: manage distribution and formatting specs to meet organizational standards for professional release.
