Job summary

EMPACT - Suicide Prevention Center is seeking an experienced accounting supervisor to lead staff, ensure accurate financial reporting, and support grant management. The role involves CAFR preparation, audit support, and maintaining internal controls across all accounting processes.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in accounting and at least three years of professional accounting experience, with strong knowledge of GAAP and public sector practices.

Qualifications

• Three years of professional accounting experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise accounting staff and review and analyze accounting documents and records, compile information required for reports and ensure proper recording of transactions.
• Review and reconcile journal entries, transactions, and financial activities for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulations and policies.
• Prepare and review the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) and other mandated financial reports, updating supporting documentation.
• Assist auditors with financial analyses and reporting, and respond to information requests as needed.
• Review and manage accounting records, identify issues, and research solutions while maintaining fund integrity.
• Reconcile technical and financial transactions, investigate discrepancies, and resolve problems per policy.
• Provide consultation on accounting policies, internal controls, and explain procedures to stakeholders.
• Maintain confidentiality of work-related information and customer records.
• Provide primary accounting functions for grant monitoring, administration, compliance, and reporting through final closing.
• Prepare Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards (SEFA) and support grant documentation requirements.
• Complete monthly general ledger reconciliations and present Budget to Actual data to program managers.
• Assist with Budget development for Grants and serve as back-up for payroll and reconciliation duties.
