Job summary

Florida Department of Health – Hillsborough County is seeking a Senior Human Services Program Manager to oversee community health initiatives and lead a multidisciplinary team in Tampa. The role requires directing, monitoring and coordinating education-based health programs in alignment with state standards and policies.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience in a county health department.
• At least 2 years of supervisory experience and leading a team.
• Valid Florida driver’s license or able to get one within 30 days of hire.
• At least 1 year of budget experience.
• Demonstrated public speaking experience to large audiences.
• Experience in development of partnerships and infrastructure that promote healthy communities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and implement strategies to maximize employee performance and uphold high ethical standards.
• Drive change to improve customer service within government framework.
• Monitor and evaluate program performance and staff, ensuring quality and accountability.
• Provide training for staff and ensure proper documentation and purchasing guidance.
• Develop reports for division director and maintain cooperative relationships with local groups.
