Job summary

Baker Hughes in Houston is seeking a Public Affairs & Community Relations Specialist to strengthen relationships with community leaders, government officials, media, and external stakeholders, supporting strategic communications and CSR initiatives.

You will serve as a company spokesperson, advise leaders on engagement strategies, manage outreach programs, and help protect the company’s reputation through proactive public affairs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Public Affairs, Community Relations, Public Relations or related fields.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Experience building relationships with external stakeholders, community organizations, or media representatives.
• Ability to manage multiple projects to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with community leaders, nonprofits, government agencies, and external stakeholders.
• Act as liaison between Baker Hughes and community partners to support engagement and reputation.
• Plan, coordinate and execute community outreach programs and CSR activities.
• Serve as a company spokesperson for local media inquiries and public communications.
• Monitor stakeholder issues and advise on engagement strategies.
• Guide business leaders on public affairs and communications best practices.
• Lead or contribute to cross-functional projects on communications and community investments.
• Manage multiple priorities while complying with policies and reporting requirements.
