Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Specialist, Measurement to support psychometricians in delivering large-scale assessment programs. You will troubleshoot and refine psychometric processes, develop QC methods, and work with datasets containing millions of records.

Strong Python and statistical skills are required, along with mentoring and cross-team collaboration. The role involves coordinating analyses, improving workflows, and contributing to standard-setting discussions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with experience as a lead data analysis consultant, or a master’s or doctoral degree with data processing experience.
• Experience in statistical analysis, programming, and large-scale data processing.
• Experience working with large datasets and developing or maintaining analytical code.
• Experience in project coordination, resource management, budgeting, and team training or mentoring.
• Experience in educational assessment or testing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, debug, and maintain psychometric programs and statistical analysis processes.
• Develop and monitor quality control processes to ensure accurate and reliable data.
• Work with diverse data structures, databases, and large datasets containing one million or more records.
• Develop and maintain code, templates, and configurations for psychometric software, such as WINSTEPS and MULTILOG.
• Coordinate data analysis and data transfers across multiple projects and teams.
• Improve data processing workflows, resolve issues, and streamline processes.
• Lead or support data analysis for standard-setting and data review meetings.
• Train and mentor colleagues on programming, data processing, troubleshooting, and quality control.
• Communicate technical information and analysis results to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Support project planning, resource coordination, and process documentation.
• Travel of approximately 5–10%
