Job summary

The National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) seeks a Senior Psychometrician to lead psychometric oversight, analyses, and consultation across certification programs. You will drive practice analysis, competency modeling, and AI-enabled assessment improvements.

Key responsibilities include establishing passing standards, conducting Rasch/DIF analyses, and developing scoring processes. Ideal candidates have a doctoral degree and extensive psychometrics experience.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent in measurement/psychometrics/stats with 3+ years in a psychometrician role.
• Strong knowledge of psychometric theory and measurement concepts (validity, reliability, CTT, IRT).
• Experience with practice analyses, standard-setting, or exam development is preferred.
• Knowledge of ML and NLP is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Designs practice analyses and competency modeling to define knowledge, skills, and requirements for occupational therapy practice.
• Develops and validates competency frameworks and exam specifications.
• Establishes passing standards using psychometric methods and conducts advanced analyses (Rasch, DIF, equating).
• Develops scoring processes and generates score reports with meaningful feedback.
• Designs AI-driven tools to support psychometric analysis and assessment design.
