Job summary

Cook County Health seeks a Psychiatrist to provide psychiatric assessment and management for patients with co-morbid medical disease and mental illness at the Ambulatory Adult Psychiatry Outpatient Clinic. Initial consultations, ongoing medication management, and coordination with medical staff are required.

Requirements include an MD/DO, Illinois license, board eligibility or certification in General Psychiatry, completion of an accredited residency, and bilingual English/Spanish; willingness

Qualifications

• MD/DO required with board eligibility or certification in General Psychiatry.
• Knowledge of managing psychiatric conditions in medically ill patients.
• Ability to coordinate care with medical staff and families.

Responsibilities

• Provide psychiatric assessment for referred outpatients.
• Manage ongoing medication treatment for Ambulatory Adult Clinic patients.
• Treat medically ill patients in outpatient settings with appropriate pharmacotherapy.
• Educate patients, trainees, and staff on mental health screening and treatment.
• Document encounters in medical records and communicate with medical staff.
