Lake Charles Memorial Health System is seeking a Psychiatric Case Manager to supervise daily department operations and staff. The role focuses on identifying efficiency improvements, reducing denials, and enhancing department performance.

The position reports to the Director of Psychiatric Services and involves coordinating notifications, reviews, and workflow to ensure high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• BA in social work or nursing (RN) preferred.
• 3-5 years experience with mental illness or addictions.
• Louisiana Nursing License or multi-state license preferred; crisis response training, CPR.

Responsabilités

• Prepares information for notification letters for providers and employees.
• Performs utilization review in accordance with state regulations.
• Maintains compliance with regulation changes affecting utilization management.
• Performs continuing review on medical records and determination of ongoing hospitalization needs.
• Reviews patient records and evaluates progress.
• Obtains and reviews medical reports and treatment plan requests for review.
• Reviews and validates physician orders, reports progress and unusual occurrences.
• Receives and processes requests for appeal of denials.
• Attends required meetings regarding approvals, denials, pre-certs, authorizations and retro reviews.

Formation

BA required

Social Work preferred

Nursing RN preferred

Louisiana Nursing License preferred
