Job summary

Trident Seafoods Corporation seeks a Senior PSM Coordinator for the Wrangell Shoreplant in Alaska. You will oversee PSM, RMP, and CAA 608 programs, ensuring regulatory compliance and the integrity of ammonia and other cooling systems across Alaska shore facilities.

The role reports to the Division Manager of Refrigeration Engineering and manages PSM Coordinators and Assistants. Strong training and field MOC/PSSR participation are required.

Summary:

Responsible for oversite of implementation and coordination of the elements of PSM, RMP and CAA 608 programs, regulatory compliance, and the integrity of the industrial refrigerant systems, including ammonia and other cooling process systems for all shore plants in Alaska. The Senior PSM Coordinator reports to the Division Manager of Refrigeration Engineering.

Responsible for the PSM Coordinators and PSM Assistant Coordinators at the assigned plants.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implements PSM programs and ensures that regulatory requirements are met as a minimum as directed by the Division Manager of Refrigeration Engineering.
• Supports PSM Plan Managers directives in Regions/Plants they are assigned.
• Attends and participates in regular meetings with PSM stake holders.
• Implements corporate programs and systems that drive consistency while ensuring that procedures and practices are aligned with state and federal laws and regulations.
• Maintains a working knowledge of PSM (14 elements), RMP, CAA 608 and applicable state and federal rules and regulations. Keep current on changes to laws and regulations that apply to industrial refrigeration. Provide technical and high level PSM related training as required.
• Implements and maintains the above regulations, requirements, and programs.
• Conducts audits and inspections of plant performance and activities.
• Ensures proper and timely completion of corrective actions as a result of audits and inspections.
• Coordinates with Plan Managers in PSM and RMP program activities at a local and asset level which include management of change, pre-startup safety review, and process hazard analysis activities. The PSM Coordinator also coordinates and participates in field MOC and PSSR meetings when needed.
• Promotes a process safety culture and drives improvements in the PSM/RMP programs.
• Assists on corporate PSM/RMP audits as needed.
• Provides support during OSHA and EPA audits of the PSM and RMP programs, and other regulatory audits of refrigeration systems.
• Provides direction to Corporate Risk Management, Engineering, Maintenance and contractors for refrigeration and related to projects / modifications.
• Defines and prioritizes site programs to meet the needs of regulatory compliance, risk analysis recommendations, corporate policies, site specific procedures and audit findings.
• Assists plant staff in prioritization of action items to address gaps.
• Manages shortages of PSM personnel and cover effected regions as necessary.
• Maintains 5-yr. MI and NDE Schedules for all Alaska Base facilities. Works with PSM Plan Managers for execution of audits and follow up items.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Acquires knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions.
• Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings.
• This position may be assigned collateral duties as a PSM Coordinator position at a local facility.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Food Processing background (Maintenance or Production) preferred.
• Knowledgeable of the PSM Standard and RMP rule and be able to lead associated activities at the facility and asset level
• Formal training in facilitating HAZWOP and What-if/Checklist PHAs preferred; or be willing to complete such training
• Formal training in MI Inspections preferred; or be willing to complete such training.

Preferred Training and Skills:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. The ability to be familiar with the use of design software, as well as word processing and spreadsheets is expected.
