Job summary

Intuitive in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking a hands-on Prototype Technician to support early prototype builds, fabrication, and assembly of instruments. You will work closely with engineers to fabricate and modify components using standard prototyping equipment such as lathe, mill, and laser welder, and perform bench testing of prototypes.

The role involves debugging, recording test results, and preparing instruments for pre-clinical evaluations.

Qualifications

• Experience in assembling and fabricating prototype instruments.
• Ability to follow engineering drawings and procedures.
• Proven troubleshooting and repair skills on prototypes.

Responsibilities

• Assist with early prototype builds including fabrication and material procurement.
• Assemble prototypes per engineering designs and instructions.
• Work with engineers to fabricate and modify components using prototyping equipment.
• Debug and test prototype performance and report results.
• Prepare instruments and accessories for benchtop testing and lab evaluations.
• Create test/assembly fixtures and contribute to production fixture design.
• Document assembly procedures and train other technicians.
