Job summary

AECOM seeks a Protection and Controls Engineer to support Grid Modernization within our Energy practice. The role can be remote in the U.S. or hybrid from a U.S. office, working with project teams to design, protect, and optimize power systems across substations and transmission assets.

You will coordinate protection settings, mentor engineers, and contribute to studies, design, and field startup activities, ensuring quality and compliance with standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• 6 years of relevant protection and controls experience in electrical engineering.
• Professional Engineering licensure is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the electrical engineering design work on assigned projects.
• Provide mentorship for the other electrical engineers in the team.
• Develop design schedules and budgets for electrical engineering activities.
• Perform power system studies and protection settings coordination.
