Job summary

HITACHI ENERGY USA INC in Raleigh, NC seeks a Protection & Control Engineer to design, develop, and implement protection and control schemes for substations and power systems. You will prepare detailed engineering documentation, review vendor specs, and coordinate activities from design through commissioning.

The role involves relay testing, SCADA integration, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. A PE license is preferred and US work authorization is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in protection and control engineering for power systems.
• PE license or certification preferred.
• Candidate must have work authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement protection and control systems for electrical power projects.
• Prepare engineering documentation, including design criteria, schematics, wiring diagrams, and relay settings.
• Coordinate technical activities across design, testing, and commissioning phases.
• Support testing, commissioning, and SCADA integration activities.
• Ensure compliance with applicable standards, procedures, and guidelines.
