Job summary

LaBella Associates is seeking a Protection and Control Engineer with 10+ years of experience to design protection systems for substations up to 138 kV and 2.4 kV level equipment. The role includes cost estimating, bidding document preparation, and collaboration with NY offices.

You will lead electrical projects, guide commissioning, and participate in business development within a diverse engineering team.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in protection and control for substations and related projects.
• PE license in the US desired but not required.

Responsibilities

• Design projects with clients to define scope and propose solutions.
• Prepare protection/control drawings and documentation (relay one-lines, three-lines, schematics, I/O lists).
• Evaluate interoperability, control features, and communication aspects of relays and RTUs; perform load and fault studies.
• Assist commissioning during system startups and functional checks.
• Contribute to business development activities.
