Job summary

Venus Aerospace Corp. is hiring a Principal Propulsion Engineer to lead design, analysis, and development of propulsion hardware from concepts to flight-ready assemblies.

You will own projects end-to-end, mentor teammates, and contribute to an agile environment at our Houston HQ with remote options. The role requires 10+ years in aerospace propulsion, a strong systems-engineering background, and experience with large CAD assemblies.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in aerospace vehicle and engine systems engineering/design.
• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering.
• Systems engineering and operational experience.
• Experience on multidisciplinary project teams.
• Knowledge of propulsion materials and fluid systems.
• CAD experience with large assemblies.

Responsibilities

• Support design, analysis, manufacturing, and testing of propulsion piece parts and assemblies.
• Generate CAD models of components and engine systems.
• Fluid network modeling, analysis and design; identify COTS components and liaise with suppliers.
• Generate P&ID’s of engine systems.
• Develop and execute test plans; analyze results.
• Systems engineering focusing on engine balances, sizing, requirements, and cycle trade-offs.
• Use engine P&IDs to generate detailed CAD models of engine assemblies.
• Apply agile methods to break down projects into daily/weekly tasks.
• Own lifecycle of an engine assembly (combustor, gimbal, etc.).
• Mentor younger team members at headquarters.
