Job summary

Ursa Major is seeking a Senior System Safety Engineer to ensure propulsion systems meet rigorous safety and reliability standards. You will analyze hardware and schematics for fault tolerance, maintain ESMP, and coordinate with regulators and program management from initiation to decommissioning.

The role requires a STEM degree with 8+ years in system/safety engineering, ability to obtain U.S. security clearance, and on-site work across Berthoud and Galeton, CO, with occasional overnight shifts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) with 8+ years of Systems/Safety Engineering experience.
• Clearance ability to obtain/maintain U.S. government security clearance.
• On-site role split between Berthoud and Galeton, CO, with occasional overnight shifts.

Responsibilities

• Analyze hardware, schematics for fault tolerance and safety compliance.
• Maintain and evolve Ursa Explosive Safety Management Program (ESMP).
• Review test procedures and maintenance to ensure safety controls.
• Collaborate across engineering teams to embed safety across lifecycles.
