Job summary

Cahaba Federal Solutions is seeking a Senior Propulsion Engineer in Dayton, OH to contribute across guidance, propulsion, and control for rocket-propelled aerospace vehicles. You will evaluate liquid and solid propulsion systems, respond to customer technical inquiries, and develop rigorous analyses and formal technical reports.

Required qualifications include a ABET‑accredited Bachelor’s in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering, 5+ years in propulsion or fluid systems, and active SECRET clearance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering from ABET-accredited university.
• 5+ years in design, testing, or evaluation of propulsion or fluid mechanical systems.
• Education in propulsion disciplines: thermodynamics, equilibria, stoichiometry, compressible flow, nozzle design, structural/mechanics.
• Proficiency in scientific computing using C, C++, Fortran, Python, or MATLAB.
• Ability to conduct research and communicate findings in written reports.
• Self-starter able to work independently or in a team.
• Active SECRET clearance with SCI eligibility.
• Must be located in or relocate to the Dayton, OH area.

Responsibilities

• Conduct engineering analyses for propulsion, guidance, and control systems.
• Address customer inquiries related to propulsion including liquid and solid motors.
• Develop formal technical reports and recommendations based on analyses and research.
• Perform propulsion-related assessments to support mission objectives.
