Shield AI is seeking a Propulsion Technician for the X-BAT Propulsion Engineering team to handle UAV propulsion systems from assembly to ground testing. The role demands hands-on work with low-bypass turbofan-like engines, rigorous diagnostics, and strict safety adherence.

Required A&P license, military or civilian aircraft engine experience, and strong troubleshooting skills. Ability to work in fast-paced environments and collaborate with flight-test engineers is essential.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience working on aircraft engines (military or civilian).
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Self-starter with high-energy, hands-on maintenance mindset.

Responsibilities

• Conduct engine assembly, disassembly, and integration for UAV propulsion systems.
• Perform pre-flight and post-flight inspections and ensure propulsion systems meet standards.
• Operate test cells for engine validation, tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and performance issues in propulsion systems.
• Collaborate with engineers and flight test teams to ensure system readiness.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, inspections, and modifications.
• Follow strict safety protocols and standard operating procedures.
• Maintain compliance with ITAR requirements and security clearances.
