Job description

SAIC is seeking a senior-level Proposal Writer experienced in crafting original content for all sections of Federal RFx with minimal oversight. This position can be remote across the US or hybrid for candidates with an active clearance in the DC Metro area.

What You’ll Do

You will be a key member of the Proposal Development Center (PDC), providing full lifecycle support for Federal proposals, including content planning, template development, writing, editing, and submission of key sections such as resumes, past performance, and narratives. You will also mentor junior writers and contribute to process improvements.

Day in the Life of a Cleared Proposal Writer

• Interview candidates and SMEs to develop clear, persuasive, and compliant proposal content.
• Ensure content accuracy and alignment with RFx requirements, company processes, and industry standards.
• Peer review colleagues' work and participate in formal color reviews.
• Coach and mentor less experienced writers.
• Engage in early-stage capture strategy development.

Qualifications

You Need to Have:

• BA/BS degree (or higher) in relevant fields plus 10+ years of federal proposal experience, or a master's degree with 8+ years, or a PhD/JD with 5+ years, with additional experience considered in lieu of a degree.
• US Citizenship required.
• Up to 10% travel may be requested for high-priority opportunities.

We Really Wish You Would Have:

• Experience with FEDSIM/AAS, OTA, and self-scoring bids.
• Knowledge of modernization, cloud, warfighter solutions, and agile methodologies in federal sectors.
• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI preferred for DMV residents.
