Job summary

U.S. Bank is seeking a Proposal Development Manager to lead the proposal writing team, align resources to opportunities, and deliver high‑quality, compliant proposals on schedule.

You will coach writers, set quality standards, and drive disciplined, client‑focused messaging across the portfolio. Reporting to the Head of Proposal Strategy & Management, you will oversee end‑to‑end development, milestones, and reviews, partner with Sales, Product, Legal and Risk, and elevate proposal strategy

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in proposal writing, proposal management, marketing communications, or related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience leading, coaching, or developing proposal writers or similar teams.
• Strong experience managing multiple concurrent RFPs, RFIs, or complex client deliverables.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and executive communication skills.
• Strong workload, resource, and deadline management capabilities.
• Demonstrated ability to operate in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
• Experience in financial services, payments, treasury management, fintech, or complex B2B environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Directly manage, coach, and develop proposal writers.
• Establish expectations for writing quality, project execution, collaboration, responsiveness, and deadlines.
• Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and writing guidance.
• Identify development needs and help build proposal writing capabilities.
• Support onboarding and training of new proposal writers.
• Build consistency in writing quality, client-centric messaging, and proposal execution.
• Oversee end-to-end proposal development from kickoff through submission.
