Senior Proposal Manager / Business Development (Space Industry)

Who We Are: Space Kinetic is a cleared, venture-backed startup focused on addressing urgent national security priorities. Our goal is to deliver a suite of asymmetric capabilities for space superiority and missile defense leveraging our proprietary electromechanical deployment system, which enables the rapid deployment of low-cost payloads through space without firing a thruster. We are currently assembling our TRL-5 prototype to provide the United States with a new tool for securing the space domain and catalyzing the emerging space economy.
What You'll Do:
- Develop and deliver winning proposals and technical materials. We seek a highly organized individual with excellent writing and communication skills, capable of addressing technical subject matter and working collaboratively.
- Lead the drafting and development of detailed, customer-focused, and compelling proposals in response to RFIs, RFPs/RFQs, solicitations, SBIRs, BAAs, STTRs, and company-initiated opportunities.
- Collaborate with Business Development and engineering teams to prepare proposals.
- Interact effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver compliant, professional proposals.
- Conduct technical, financial, and strategy reviews.
- Manage proposal components to ensure timely delivery.
- Support proposal strategy, discriminator development, and catalog concept development.
- Assist Marketing and Communications in preparing materials to communicate our value proposition and translate technical concepts into marketing materials.
- Support engineering in developing descriptive technical materials.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
What It Takes:
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, Management, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in proposal management and writing, preferably in the USG or commercial sectors.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Strong organizational and managerial skills.
- Experience leading proposal teams and delivering successful proposals.
- Ability to understand and learn technical concepts.
- Excellent organizational skills to handle shifting priorities.
- Proficiency in technical writing and research, with strong command of English.
- Proficiency with MS Office and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
- Willingness to obtain TS/SCI clearance.

- Familiarity with USG procurement, FAR, OTA, ITAR, and EAR regulations.
Where You'll Be:
- Remote position; headquarters in Torrance, CA.
- Preferred locations include major US metropolitan areas relevant to the space industry, such as SF Bay Area, Los Angeles, Huntsville, Denver, Houston, or Washington DC.

Pay range: $150,000—$169,000 USD
