Allianz Commercial in San Francisco is seeking a Senior Underwriter to join our Property Team in a remote role based in California. You will underwrite profitable new and renewal accounts, manage policy documentation, and contribute to regional underwriting strategy while building strong broker and client relationships.

The role requires 3–5 years in Property underwriting, with expertise in risk assessment, pricing, and policy management.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of profitable Property LoB underwriting experience.
• Strong risk assessment and exposure management capabilities.
• Pricing and market management expertise.
• Solid understanding of policy management lifecycle.
• Experience working in a complex global matrix organization.
• Basic understanding of AI applications in business.
• Excellent broker and client relationship skills.
• Ability to negotiate terms and conditions with brokers.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite profitable new and renewal accounts, negotiating participation, pricing, and terms with brokers.
• Evaluate Natural Catastrophe Accumulation and interpret catastrophe modeling scenarios.
• Ensure contract certainty at inception and utilize global pricing tools.
• Manage policy documentation and administration, ensuring accurate issuance and file maintenance.
• Support development and execution of regional underwriting strategy, including coaching of less experienced staff.
• Proactively support acquisition of new business and retention of existing business with Market Management.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key brokers, clients, and stakeholders.
