Velocity Risk Underwriters, part of Ryan Specialty, seeks an experienced Underwriter II to assess and price complex catastrophe-exposed property risks. You will build broker partnerships, manage a portfolio, and drive profitable growth within delegated authority.

The role emphasizes relationship management, analytical decision-making, and collaboration across underwriting, brokerage, operations, and carrier partners to deliver high-quality service in a dynamic market.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Business, Finance, Insurance, or related field (equivalent experience considered).
• 5+ years of commercial property underwriting experience.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and relationship management abilities.

Mansioni

• Underwrite and manage a portfolio of new and renewal property business.
• Evaluate submissions, loss history, CAT modeling results, risk characteristics, and exposure data.
• Assess risk acceptability, coverage requirements, pricing adequacy, and policy structures.
• Negotiate terms, conditions, deductibles, and pricing with brokers to drive profitable growth.
• Develop and maintain relationships with wholesale and retail broker partners.
• Drive new business production while maximizing retention within your portfolio.
• Collaborate with various teams to deliver exceptional service and ensure compliance.
