Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience working as a Property Underwriter with various occupancies including large accounts.
• Excellent marketing skills and established relationships with insurance companies.
• Strong interpersonal and writing skills with the ability to flourish in a team environment.
• The ability to interpret engineering reports.
• Prior Reinsurance experience a plus.
• The ability to interpret catastrophe modeling and actuarial methodologies and output.
• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint required.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain direct and intermediary business relationships where opportunities are cultivated, underwritten, and bound at your general discretion.
• Work with claims, accounting, and product management to support company objectives.
• Travel after the initial training period to assigned markets and territory.
• Marketing that includes travel monthly or as needed.
• Maintain awareness of competitor capabilities and the overall insurance marketplace.
• Experience with catastrophe models is a plus.
• Property Facultative experience preferred.
• Experience with specialty business is also preferred (power generation, mid-stream production, refining/petrochemical, specialty chemicals, renewables, and mining).
