Job summary

Doña Ana County in Las Cruces, NM seeks a Property Appraiser to perform appraisals for residential, commercial, industrial, multi-family, and vacant land using standard methods and computer-assisted systems. The role includes data collection, analysis of land values, property measurements, and site inspections across the county.

Responsibilities include applying appraisal techniques, conducting statistical analyses, addressing owner questions, and leading project tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; related college degree preferred.
• Three (3) years of real estate appraisal experience (commercial, industrial, land, multi-family residential); bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Must pass pre-employment background check and driving record check.

Responsibilities

• Perform property data collection and analysis across property types within Doña Ana County.
• Assess complex land, commercial, industrial, or residential properties using standard appraisal techniques.
• Lead special projects and coordinate appraisers; maintain records.
• Explain department procedures to the public and respond to questions about value.
