What You’ll Do:
The Senior Property Analyst is responsible for the financial statements produced for all assigned communities. This position is required to analyze data, provide variance analysis, review entries, make corrections, and perform reconciliations in the pursuit of accurate reporting. This position must communicate with outside partners (ie - lenders, investors, and government agencies).
Qualifications Required:
- Requires a bachelor's degree in accounting or real estate. Or equivalent experience of 10+ years in the role.
- Effectively able to record journal entries andevaluate financial statements for accuracy andcompleteness.
- Stronganalytical,criticalthinking,andcommunicationskills.
- Shouldpossessbasicknowledgeoflawsandregulations regarding HUD,Taxcredit,publichousing.
- Shouldpossessbasicknowledgeofconstruction,affordable/seniorlivingdevelopmentaccounting.
- Shouldpossessbasicknowledge ofownership structures andfinancialmodeling.Ability to analyze and provide commentary on financial results/variances.
- Mustpossesstheabilitytoreadandanalyzefinancialreportsandotheraccountingdata.
- PossessintermediateskillsinExcel.
- Abilitytocommunicatewith lenders,investors,auditors,andvariousgovernmentalrepresentatives.
Functions and Responsibilities
- Perform all accounting journal entries and analyze financial information specific property accounts for 30 sites monthly.
- Reconcile bank accounts and having supporting schedules monthly for all balance sheet accounts.
- Review income statement accounts on an analytic basis to ensure GAAP and HUD standards are followed and any variances are explainable.
- Prepare reporting monthly, quarterly, and annually.
- Work with lenders, syndicators, investors, regulatory agencies, and various internal stakeholders on reporting and inquiries.
- Reviewauditsandtaxreturns forassignedsites.
- Assistinannualbudgetingforthesites.
- Desiretolearnmorecomplex accountingtransactions:acquisitions, refinance, casualty loss,sales,otheronboarding/offboardings.
- Assistonprojectsthatensureinternalcontrolsandbringefficiency.
- LearnHUD,RD,andotherapplicableregulatoryagencyrequirements.
- Ensure payments made ontaxesand other annual items,alongwith verifyingtheaccuracy ofaccrualsanalytically.
- Performotherrelatedduties asassigned.
