Job summary

LHH is seeking a Property Accounting Manager to lead portfolio accounting operations in a complex real estate environment. You will mentor staff, ensure GAAP-compliant reporting, oversee intercompany activities, and support audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 4+ years in property/real estate accounting or related real estate industry experience.
• 3+ years of management or supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience with month-end close processes.
• Experience with intercompany accounting and complex ownership structures.
• Proficiency in Excel and accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities for a real estate housing portfolio.
• Review and analyze financial statements, reconciliations, workpapers, and schedules.
• Oversee accounting for complex transactions, intercompany activity, and multi-entity structures.
• Partner with Development Accounting on construction projects and regulatory reviews.
• Support annual audits and prepare audit schedules and PBC requests.
• Monitor cash flow, banking activity, reserve accounts, and reporting requirements.
• Provide financial analysis to support operational decisions and variance analysis.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and alignment with lender requirements and regulatory agreements.
• Identify opportunities to improve workflows and internal controls.
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and training.
