Job summary

Synergy, a leading Boston commercial real estate firm, seeks a Property Accounting Manager to manage accounting, analysis and reporting for multiple LLCs and related entities. This hybrid role requires 4 days in-office and one day remote.

The candidate will supervise a team of property accountants, enforce internal controls, and support budgeting and GAAP compliance. Relocation support and competitive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA preferred.
• 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Prior accounting management experience in commercial real estate preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Proficient in Excel; Yardi/MRI experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure monthly, quarterly, and annual closes and reporting are accurate and timely for a portfolio of assets.
• Review and approve financial workpapers, reconciliations, budgets, GAAP work papers.
• Enforce internal control policies and ensure compliance.
• Identify deficiencies and implement corrective actions.
• Lead annual budgeting and monthly reporting for senior management.
• Develop understanding of Yardi and MRI to maximize use.
• Oversee day-to-day operations of a team of accountants; provide backup as needed.
• Support team initiatives and lead special projects.
