KETTLER Management is seeking a Senior Property Accountant to join our team in the Virginia, D.C., Maryland region. You will manage day-to-day accounting for residential communities, prepare financial statements and budgets, and assist with owner/investor reporting.

Responsibilities include variance analysis, reconciliations, bank reconciliations, tax filings, and supporting annual budgets. The role requires 7+ years of accounting experience, GAAP knowledge, and proficiency in Excel and Yardi.

Qualifications

• BA or BS Degree in Accounting/Finance is required.
• Minimum of 7 years experience is required.
• Knowledge of GAAP is required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (vlookups, pivot tables, sumifs, etc.)
• Great communication skills (both verbal and written).
• Strong ability to work under pressure independently or in team environment.
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience with Yardi is preferred.
• Demonstrates ability and interest to develop strong analytical skills.

Responsabilités

• Operating revenue and expense variance analysis
• Reconciliation of balance sheet and general ledger accounts to supporting reports
• Prepare Monthly bank reconciliations
• Responsible for monthly payments for debt service, owner distribution calculations, etc.
• Responsible for real estate tax and insurance payments, to avoid late payments and penalties
• Responsible for personal property tax filings and business licenses.
• Post monthly accruals and work with Regional and Property managers for accuracy
• Prepare replacement reserve filings
• Maintain and update schedules for Equity
• Facilitate with annual budget process by preparing supporting schedules and working with the site team
• Assist site team with budget re-forecast and cash re-forecasts
• Answer audit questions and assist with preparing supporting schedules
• Timely resolution of problems and issues
• Ongoing communication with regional operational and site managers and third party ownership as needed
• Process improvement identification
• Other tasks as assigned
