Job summary

Stream Realty Partners in Dallas, TX seeks a Senior Property Accountant I to manage accounting for assigned portfolios, ensuring GAAP-compliant, timely financial reporting and support for monthly close.

You will prepare statements, record entries, perform GL reconciliations, assist budgeting and forecasting, and collaborate with Property Management and centralized teams to drive accuracy and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
• 3–6+ years of accounting experience, preferably in property accounting or real estate.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience with property accounting systems (Yardi, MRI, or similar).
• Strong accounting and analytical skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with growing independence.
• Problem-solving and critical thinking.
• Communication and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial statement packages for assigned properties.
• Record journal entries, including accruals, depreciation, and amortization.
• Perform general ledger analysis and account reconciliations.
• Support timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
• Meet internal and external reporting deadlines.
• Analyze financial results and prepare variance explanations.
• Review income statements, balance sheets, and supporting schedules for accuracy.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Prepare operating expense reconciliations and other client deliverables.
• Support Property Management and leadership with financial information.
• Manage day-to-day accounting tasks across portfolios.
• Ensure transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with policies.
• Maintain accurate and complete property-level accounting records.
• Assist with transition of new properties and client onboarding.
• Communicate with Property Management and stakeholders on financial matters.
• Escalate complex issues to leadership as needed.
• Contribute to process standardization and improvements.
