Job summary

RPM Living is seeking a Senior Property Accountant to support accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of properties. This hybrid role involves managing cash flow, GL, and monthly close responsibilities across multiple clients.

You will mentor junior staff, communicate with clients and property management, and help implement internal policies to ensure accurate financials and robust controls. Phoenix-based opportunity with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of property management accounting experience preferred.
• Experience with Yardi, MRI or RealPage/Onisite is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial information aligning with deadlines and controls.
• Generate financials for multiple clients with varying reporting needs.
• Communicate with clients and property management to ensure timely service.
• Apply detailed accounting judgment to determine appropriate treatments.
• Manage cash flow to cover property expenses and funding needs.
• Record journal entries, accruals, and document prepaid rent in software.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly and perform bank reconciliations.
• Handle cash disbursements, invoicing, and inter-company collections.
• Mentor and train less experienced accounting staff.
• Contribute to written policies and procedures for duties performed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Executive Team.
