Location: Niles, IL (On-site, 5 days/week)

Salary: $85,000 – $100,000 (flexible for the right candidate)

A growing real estate investment and asset management firm is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its finance team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain books and records for assigned real estate portfolios, including posting journal entries, maintaining the general ledger, and performing account reconciliations
• Assist with the month-end close process, including preparation of adjusting entries and financial reporting packages
• Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements for multiple entities
• Partner with finance leadership on monthly and annual reporting requirements
• Support year-end audit and tax processes, including coordination with external tax advisors
• Assist with cost reporting and balance sheet analysis to ensure financial accuracy
• Work cross-functionally with asset management and executive leadership on ad hoc projects
• Provide timely and accurate accounting while managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Interact with tenants and internal stakeholders related to assigned portfolios as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 3–5+ years of accounting experience, ideally within real estate or portfolio accounting
• Experience in commercial real estate, institutional real estate, healthcare real estate, REITs, or similar environments strongly preferred
• Exposure to skilled nursing facilities, post-acute healthcare assets, or healthcare real estate portfolios is highly preferred
• Strong understanding of core accounting concepts including accrual accounting, cash accounting, and adjusting entries
• Yardi experience strongly preferred
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• CPA or public accounting background is a plus
