Job summary

Wood Rodgers, a leading engineering consulting firm, is hiring a project surveyor to join our Survey Department in Roseville, CA. This staffed, hourly, non-exempt position focuses on land surveying tasks including ALTA Surveys, Records of Survey, parcel and final maps, and exhibits for diverse projects.

You will schedule projects, instruct crews, prepare drawings in AutoCAD Civil 3D, interpret field notes, perform computations, and review exhibits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, or equivalent, required.
• Minimum of five years of relevant work experience, with project experience in land development essential.
• Survey field experience preferred but not mandatory.
• LSIT is required and holding a PLS is preferred.
• Experience with ESRI GIS and AutoCAD Civil 3D recommended.
• Ability to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Schedule survey projects and monitor completion.
• Instruct survey crews for field work needed.
• Prepare and review detailed drawings from sketches, plans, specifications, and written and verbal instructions using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Interpret field notes and sketches.
• Perform and review computations for surveys, plats, and easements.
• Use AutoCAD to produce ALTA/NSPS surveys, records, parcel maps, final maps, and related documents.
• Prepare and review legal descriptions and exhibits for parcel/easement acquisitions.
• Compile land title information from title reports and records research.
• Preferred: generate topographic surveys and process GPS data using Trimble Business Center.
