Job summary

The Weitz Company is seeking a Traveling Senior Project Superintendent for data center projects in Boling, TX, reporting to the Mission Critical team. The role focuses on profitable field operations, safety culture, and coordinating schedule, budget, and staff to deliver performance.

You will build strong client and subcontractor relationships and drive project execution. Weitz emphasizes a diverse, inclusive culture and a long history of building, design-building, and construction management

Qualifications

• 8+ years of Project Superintendent experience required.
• Commercial construction GC experience required.
• Experience leading, developing, and mentoring a team.
• Data Center Construction experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary leader of subcontractors and field forces on a job site.
• Maintain project safety in accordance with the Company’s Safety Policy.
• Develop and update the project schedule, resource allocation, and work processes.
• Prepare two‑week look ahead schedules.
• Oversee daily construction activities ensuring work meets quality standards, project timelines, and budgets.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, manage their performance, and ensure they adhere to contract requirements and safety protocols.
• Conduct regular site inspections, identify and address quality issues, and ensure work meets project specifications.
• Identify and resolve issues promptly to maintain project momentum and schedule.
• Update project schedules utilizing scheduling software.
• Assist with buyout and selection of major subcontractors.
• Oversee all aspects of project execution, including construction schedules, budgets, and quality control.
• Supervise and coordinate all field personnel, subcontractors, and construction activities.
• Implement and enforce strict safety protocols to ensure a safe work environment.
• Maintain strong communication with project managers, clients, and stakeholders.
• Coordinate the work of the subcontractors’ field forces.
• Communicate effectively with owners, designers, engineers and project team.
• Maintain accurate cost reports.
• Ensure all paperwork is completed accurately and timely.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Provide opportunities for the team to learn and grow.

The Weitz Company is looking for a Traveling Senior Project Superintendent to be located on exciting data center projects in Boling, TX with our Mission Critical team!

The Senior Project Superintendent is responsible for the profitable field operations on complex, large projects after demonstrating ability to successfully complete smaller projects. The Senior Project Superintendent is also responsible to establish the safety culture on the jobsite and work closely with the Project Manager to manage schedule, budget, and staff to achieve profitable outcomes. This individual should also create and maintain effective client, vendor, supplier, and subcontractor relationships. This position typically reports to the most senior Project Manager on the job.

• Foster positive relationships with both internal and external parties

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience:
  • 8+ years of Project Superintendent experience required
  • Commercial construction experience working for a general contractor (GC) is required
  • Experience leading, developing, and mentoring a team
  • Experience in Data Center Construction is strongly preferred
• Skills:
  • Ability to read/interpret construction documents
  • Knowledge of construction methods and materials
  • Excellent project organizational skills
  • Impressive leadership skills with the desire to teach, mentor, and develop a team
  • Business acumen and relationship building skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication across all levels of the organization
• Technology:
  • Proficient in basic computer software including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to learn specific job-related software upon hire
