Job summary

e-STORAGE, a subsidiary of Canadian Solar, seeks a Project Quality Manager to plan, lead, and monitor all project quality work for utility-scale batter energy storage projects in the US. You will develop SSQP and ITPs, manage audits, and drive continuous improvement across stakeholders.

The role requires 3+ years in project quality management, ISO/quality standards expertise, and strong leadership in a hybrid work environment. Domestic travel is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in quality disciplines or related field.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in renewable energy.
• Experience in quality planning, assurance, and control; Six Sigma belt preferred.
• Lead auditor certification a plus.
• Familiarity with quality management system standards and strong EHS awareness.
• Ability to lead, coach, and manage relationships with customers, suppliers, and contractors.
• Ability to work with global cross-functional teams and hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up, implement, and update the project quality management system (PQMS) according to ISO standards to meet the evolving BESS business development and project quality.
• Cultivate, drive, and exemplify a 'Safety First, Quality Must' culture that emphasizes personal responsibility, openness, continuous learning, and improvement. Focus on doing things safely and right the first time.
• Plan, organize, lead, and monitor all aspects of project quality assurance activities at various project phases. Manage supplier and contractor quality, review ITPs and NCRs, and conduct quality audits.
• Develop the Project Site‑Specific Quality Plan (SSQP) and the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) in collaboration with project team members to meet clients' contractual requirements.
• Lead and facilitate the application of lessons learned from past projects to future projects, driving continuous improvement in project quality.
• Identify, track, and document quality issues/non‑compliances and communicate their resolution according to the contractual requirements and the SSQP.
• Coordinate with engineering, project execution, and O&M teams to resolve equipment issues and proactively prevent performance problems. Assist the commercial, procurement, and legal teams with quality‑related tasks.
• Travel as needed within the US, Canada, Europe, Australia, and other locations, sometimes with short notice, including weekends or overnight stays. Work flexible hours (evenings, weekends) as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Quality Director and management.
