Job summary

NHS Scotland is seeking a proactive Senior Project Officer to support the Primary Care Improvement Portfolio. The role, based in Edinburgh or Glasgow with hybrid working, involves planning, coordinating and delivering programmes across portfolio workstreams.

You will manage timescales, costs and quality, engage stakeholders, and contribute to governance processes, including information governance and risk management. Occasional travel across Scotland is required.

Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level, or equivalent knowledge and experience in a similar NHS/ statutory role.
  • Experience in coordinating and delivering demanding programme schedules.
  • Advanced MS Office skills and ability to produce analytical reports.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, co-ordinate and deliver programmes across portfolio workstreams within timescales, cost and quality.
  • Engage with a wide range of stakeholders, internally and externally, via verbal, written and digital communication.
  • Develop and manage resources and digital content, including webpages, with a governance-focused mindset.

We are seeking to appoint a proactive Senior Project Officer with excellent project management skills to support the work of the Primary Care Improvement Portfolio.

Senior Project Officer (Ref: 256308)
£43,231 - £52,679 (Band 6)

The successful candidate will operationally plan, co-ordinate and deliver programmes across a variety of portfolio workstreams, ensuring the successful completion of activities within agreed parameters such as timescales, cost, and quality. You will have excellent verbal, written and digital communication skills and be able to connect effectively with a wide range of stakeholders both internally and externally. You will have experience in project and event management, high-level report writing and resource and digital content development including webpages. In addition, you will have a good understanding of governance processes to contribute to areas of work such as information governance, risk management, financial management and staff governance.

Educated to degree level, or with equivalent knowledge and experience working in a similar role within NHS or other statutory sector setting, you will demonstrate proficiency in the co-ordination and implementation of a demanding programme schedule and be driven to develop yourself and others. In addition, advanced Microsoft Office skills and insights into qualitative and quantitative analytical skills will be highly desirable.

Travel throughout Scotland will be required.
