Healthcare Improvement Scotland is seeking a Data & Measurement Advisor on a fixed-term contract ending 31 March 2027. The role is full-time (36 hours) with hybrid working in Edinburgh/Glasgow to provide expert advice on using quantitative data about care quality across health and social care teams.
You will analyse and interpret complex information, apply quality improvement knowledge, and work with stakeholders to support programmes at different development stages and tight deadlines.
An exciting opportunity has become available in our Data, Measurement & Business Intelligence Team. In this dynamic and demanding role, you will work alongside teams across Healthcare Improvement Scotland, providing expert advice and support on using quantitative data about the quality of care. This includes using data as an integral part of our work supporting those delivering health and social care across Scotland to redesign and continuously improve services. It also includes using data to inform our external quality assurance of these services.
Educated to degree level, you will have additional experience of analysing, interpreting and using complex information. You will have in depth knowledge, together with recent practical experience, of using quantitative data about the quality of health and/or social care. Experience of coding (eg using R) will be an advantage, as will knowledge of quality improvement methodology.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, together with an ability to build effective collaborative working relationships with a variety of stakeholders. In addition, you will be able to work efficiently and effectively to provide support for programmes at various stages of development, and be comfortable working to tight deadlines.
