Job summary

LVI Associates in Connecticut is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Project Manager to join a high‑performing team, blending technical leadership with client growth responsibilities. This role targets experienced geotechnical professionals who lead from the front and mentor others while delivering complex projects.

This role leads projects from pursuit through delivery, mentors junior engineers, and builds strong client relationships while overseeing field investigations, reports, and design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering is preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required or on-track for licensure.

Responsibilities

• Manage geotechnical projects from proposal stage through final delivery.
• Prepare and review geotechnical reports, specifications, and engineering recommendations.
• Lead client relationships, project coordination, budgeting, billing, and scheduling.
• Mentor, coach, and develop junior engineers and technical staff.
• Support excavation design, retaining structures, and advanced geotechnical analyses (PLAXIS 3D).
• Oversee field investigations, construction observations, and QC efforts.
• Help expand existing client relationships and support new business development.

What You'll Lead

You will serve as both a technical and client-facing leader responsible for project execution, team development, and business growth.

• Manage geotechnical projects from proposal stage through final delivery.
• Prepare and review geotechnical reports, specifications, construction plans, and engineering recommendations.
• Lead client relationships, project coordination, budgeting, billing, and scheduling activities.
• Mentor, coach, and develop junior engineers and technical staff.
• Support excavation design, retaining structures, and advanced geotechnical analyses, including PLAXIS 3D modelling.
• Oversee field investigations, construction observations, and quality control efforts.
• Help expand existing client relationships while supporting new business development initiatives.

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline and a Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• 9-10+ years of geotechnical engineering experience.
• Strong background in geotechnical investigations, construction inspections, and field operations.
• Experience with earthwork, deep foundations, load testing, excavation support systems, retaining walls, and ground improvement.
• Proven project management experience, including budgets, schedules, proposals, and client management.
• Strong communication skills with experience mentoring engineers and leading project teams.
• Familiarity with industry software such as PLAXIS, LPILE, SLOPE/W, gINT, and related geotechnical analysis tools is highly desirab
