Job summary

NTT DATA Business Solutions Deutschland seeks a Senior Project Manager, SAP Transformation to lead end-to-end SAP S/4HANA transformation programs. You will integrate schedules, conversions, resources, and testing across multiple workstreams, with governance at program level for larger engagements.

You will collaborate with AMS, SAP, architects, and global teams, challenging assumptions, resolving dependencies, and escalating risks while maintaining a One Team approach for high-quality delivery

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 7 years of SAP project/program management or delivery leadership.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA transformation, conversion, upgrades, or full-lifecycle programs in on-premise and/or RISE environments.

Responsibilities

• Own integrated plans, milestones, critical paths, resources, customer commitments, readiness gates, decisions, and delivery outcomes across project phases and related workstreams.
• Incorporate defects, lessons learned, technical findings, and improvements from each conversion cycle into subsequent rehearsals and plans.
• Contribution to SAP Transformation practice growth.
• Coordinate delivery teams; define work-package ownership, staffing, estimates, handoffs, dependencies, schedules, and acceptance criteria aligned to SOWs.
• Manage cross-functional dependencies across Basis, security/GRC, functional, ABAP, integrations, data, testing, cloud/infrastructure, and validation; identify capacity and ownership gaps early.
• Maintain risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, and decisions with accountable owners and escalation thresholds.

Senior Project Manager, SAP Transformation

The Senior Project Manager, SAP Transformation, will lead end-to-end delivery of complex SAP S/4HANA transformations and conversions, integrating schedules, conversion cycles, work packages, customer dependencies, resources, financials, testing, cutover, Go-Live, Hypercare, and closure. For larger engagements, provide program-level governance across related projects while individual Project Managers and workstream leads retain execution accountability.

Serve as a customer-facing leader across the Conversion Factory, AMS, SAP, architects, functional and technical teams, global delivery groups, and third parties. Apply sufficient SAP delivery knowledge to challenge assumptions, resolve dependencies, and escalates risks without replacing technical subject matter experts.

This role combines SAP delivery credibility, disciplined program management, commercial awareness, executive communication, and a One Team leadership approach leading to high-quality delivery, customer satisfaction and referenceability.

Key Responsibilities

Transformation & Program Leadership

Integrated Delivery & Work Package Governance

• Coordinate Conversion Factory, AMS, customer, SAP, third-party, and global teams; define work-package ownership, staffing, estimates, handoffs, dependencies, schedules, and acceptance criteria aligned to SOWs.
• Manage cross-functional dependencies across Basis, security/GRC, functional, ABAP, integrations, data, testing, cloud/infrastructure, and validation; identify capacity and ownership gaps early.

Risk, Scope & Commercial Management

• Maintain risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, and decisions with accountable owners, mititgation, due dates, and escalation thresholds.
• Manage SOW scope, exclusions, deliverables, customer responsibilities, budgets, burn, forecast, and utilization; govern change requests before execution and upscale material variances.

Testing, Cutover, & Delivery Readiness

• Govern testing readiness, defect resolution, exit criteria, integrated cutover sequencing, checkpoints, Go/No-Go approvals, communications, rollback/recovery, and command-center coordination.
• Lead Hypercare stabilization and formal handoff to support; integrate validation, traceability, approvals, and quality gates for GxP or regulated engagements.

Customer, Executive, & Team Leadership

• Lead customer governance, executive status reviews, Steering Committees, readiness decisions, and escalations; communicate project health, financial exposure, risks, and options in business terms.
• Coordinate onsite, remote, and offshore resources; resolve competing priorities, enforce accountability, and foster a One Team culture focused on customer outcomes.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience;
• Minimum of 7 years of SAP project/program management or delivery leadership.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA transformation, conversion, upgrades, or full-lifecycle programs in on-premise and/or RISE environments; knowledge of testing, cutover, Go-Live, Hypercare, and support transition.
• Proven integrated planning, critical-path, risk, budget, scope/change-control, resource, and cross-workstream management; ability to manage SAP technical/functional dependencies.
• Strong customer-facing communication, negotiation, facilitation, executive presentation, escalation, and decision-making skills; experience with distributed delivery teams; ability to travel domestically.

Preferred Experience

• Multiple S/4HANA engagements, including brownfield conversions; program oversight; Conversion Factory/AMS models; SAP RISE, SAP Activate, and conversion tooling.
• GxP/validated environments; fixed-fee contracts, multiple SOWs, change requests and forecasting; relevant SAP/project management certifications; consulting experience.

The annual base compensation range for this role will be $ 185,092-$259,487 The exact compensation at which this job is filled will be determined by a number of factors including but not limited to organizational needs and the qualified candidate's skill set, certifications, and experience.
