Job summary

TKDA is seeking a Senior Project Manager / Professional Engineer for Transportation – Transit & Commuter / Freight Rail. The candidate will lead large multi-disciplinary projects from concept through construction support, coordinating teams and managing budgets and schedules.

Required 15+ years of leadership, a WA-licensed PE, and strong knowledge of rail/transit engineering codes and QA processes. Mentoring staff and developing client relationships are essential to grow the practice.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of leading large multi-disciplinary projects.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline with 5+ years in transit, rail, or transportation infrastructure projects.
• Professional Engineering license in the state of Washington.
• Proven project management leadership across complex technical projects, budgets and timelines.
• Strong rail/transit engineering background with codes, standards, and QA reviews.
• Mentoring and developing junior staff within project teams.
• Business development and client relationship management for practice growth.

Senior Project Manager / Professional Engineer, Transportation - Transit & Commuter / Freight Rail

Requirements

• 15+ years of leading large multi-disciplinary projects.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline with 5+ years of experience in transit, rail, or transportation infrastructure projects, including stations, maintenance facilities, and electrical systems
• Professional Engineering license in the state of Washington.
• Proven project management expertise with demonstrated ability to lead complex technical projects, manage budgets and timelines, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and deliver projects from concept through construction support
• Strong technical background in transit/rail engineering, including knowledge of industry codes, standards, and best practices for railroad and rail transit infrastructure, with experience in design development, specifications, and quality assurance reviews
• Leadership and mentoring experience withthe ability to direct and develop junior engineering staff, provide technical guidance, and foster professional growth within project teams
• Business development skills and client relationship management experience, including proposal preparation, marketing support, and ability to build relationships that drive practice growth in competitive markets
• Professional project management credential or equivalent training
