Job summary

Australia-Employment in the Birmingham, AL area is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead multiple modular construction projects within a Design-Manufacture-Construct model. This role owns project scope, budgets, and stakeholder communication, ensuring delivery to schedule and client expectations.

You will manage client and vendor relations, drive P&L outcomes, and mentor PMs while working on-site at least four days per week with travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant construction project management experience.

• Own project finances and P&L, approve forecast positions, present results and recovery plans.
• Own buyout strategy and approve subcontractor and vendor awards.
• Negotiate, review, and execute subcontracts and Owner Change Orders; resolve disputes.
• Manage client expectations and represent the program in front of leadership.
• Provide safety and quality leadership; have authority to halt work for safety/quality issues.
• Mentor PMs and APMs, hold them accountable for outcomes.
• Support adoption of new tools to improve efficiency.

What We Are Looking For:

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to own multiple projects simultaneously across different phases of our Design-Manufacture-Construct model, and to set the execution standard that the program's Project Managers and Assistant Program Managers work to. This role owns client, vendor, and internal communication for every assigned project, owns their combined financial performance, and presents that performance in the Executive Review. In a single week you may be running design procurement on one project, manufacturing release on a second, and field turnover on a third, holding each to its own commitments while keeping capacity, cash, and client confidence intact across all of them. This is the highest level at which our personnel are still in the work every day. The role reports to the Program Manager, requires excellent communication skills and strong technical proficiency, is on-site at our Birmingham, AL headquarters at least 4 days per week, and involves up to 25% travel.

What You Will Do:

• Own schedule, financial, and client satisfaction outcomes on all assigned projects, holding each to its own commitments without allowing one to be funded by another
• Set the execution standard for Project Managers and Assistant Program Managers across schedules, JCRs, buyout logs, change management, and client communication
• Assign and sequence work across the Project Managers and Assistant Program Managers supporting your projects
• Lead schedule risk management across the portfolio and resolve conflicts for shared Design, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Construction resources
• Own project finances and P & L across all assigned projects, approve forecast positions, and present results and recovery plans in the Executive Review
• Own buyout strategy and approve subcontractor and vendor awards within delegated authority
• Negotiate, review, and execute subcontracts and Owner Change Orders, and resolve disputes and subcontractor claims within delegated authority
• Manage client expectations and represent the program in front of client leadership and senior internal forums
• Provide safety and quality leadership, including authority to halt shipment, set, or turnover of work for an unresolved safety or quality condition
• Train, develop, and mentor Project Managers and Assistant Program Managers, and hold them accountable for outcomes rather than activity
• Support the adoption of new tools that make the organization more efficient

• Demonstrated financial and schedule oversight across multiple projects in different phases
• Strong command of contracts, subcontracts, notice, entitlement, and claims resolution
• Demonstrated safety and quality leadership
• Demonstrated ability to mentor, delegate, positively influence others, and hold others accountable for outcomes
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Smartsheet; proficiency in MS Project or Primavera P6, Microsoft Office Suite, and Bluebeam
• Ability to travel as required by the phase of assigned projects
• Bachelor's degree in Building Science, Engineering, Construction Management, Data Analytics, or a related field preferred
• PMP, ASHE CHC, LEED AP, or similar certification beneficial
• Experience in modular construction or design-build environments preferred
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central or a comparable ERP, and building KPI dashboards (Power BI, Tableau, Smartsheet) preferred
• Experience navigating AHJ and State Health permitting and inspection across multiple jurisdictions preferred
• Experience championing AI tools such as Claude.ai or Claude Code within a project team preferred
• Healthcare, EPC, or Mission Critical (Data Center) project experience is a plus
