Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Project Manager in Orlando, FL to oversee all mechanical subcontracting projects, including HVAC, Plumbing, and Medical Gas installations in healthcare facilities. You will manage costs, field labor, and subcontractors to ensure safe, on-time, and budget-conscious completions.

Qualified candidates bring 10+ years of PM experience in heavy commercial construction, strong communication skills, and a track record of multitasking across multiple ongoing projects

Qualifications

  • BS Construction Management or related technical discipline is required.
  • 10+ years of project management experience for a mechanical subcontractor in commercial HVAC and Plumbing.
  • Extensive experience in large ($5+M) heavy commercial construction.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Well-versed in industry competitors and best practices.
  • Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of scope when necessary.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of the project and manage project costs, field labor, and subcontractors.
  • Ensure a safe on-time completion that is under budget.
  • Manage installation of HVAC, Plumbing, and Medical Gas meeting code requirements.
  • Maintain knowledge of safe practices in occupied healthcare facilities including infection control.
  • Evaluate estimates and set up job costing with labor, material, and subcontract codes.
  • Negotiate and prepare vendor/subcontractor POs and evaluate submittals to reflect drawings/specifications.
  • Conduct monthly reports and cost reviews to catch deviations early.
  • Build and maintain strong relations with general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and internal customers.
  • Evaluate and develop field personnel including workers, foreman, and superintendent.
  • Maintain a safe and secure work environment through safety meetings and investigations.

  • Evaluate estimates and set up the job costing system with labor, material, and subcontract cost codes
  • Negotiate and prepare vendor and subcontractor purchase orders and evaluate submittals to reflect contract drawings and specifications
  • Conduct monthly reports and cost reviews to catch deviations from a plan or schedule early
  • Build and maintain strong customer relations with the general contractor, subcontractors, vendors, and internal customers
  • Evaluate and develop field personnel including workers, foreman, and superintendent
  • Maintain a safe and secure work environment through safety meetings, incident investigations, and employee involvement
Requirements
  • BS Construction Management, Engineering, or related technical discipline
  • 10+ years of Project Management experience working for a mechanical subcontractor in the areas of commercial HVAC and Plumbing
  • Extensive experience in large ($5+M) heavy commercial construction
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Well-versed in the industry and the Company's competitors
  • Excellent multitasking skills, with the ability to perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
