Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a seasoned IT Project Manager to lead multiple UT Office of Information Technology projects in Knoxville, Tennessee. You will develop plans, manage budgets and schedules, track progress, and mentor staff on PM practices and the PPM tool.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's degree with at least 4 years in telecom IT project management, strong communication skills, and PMP certification (preferred). This on-site role offers opportunities in a large university IT environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience as a technical IT project manager in telecommunications.
• Experience managing IT projects such as data wiring, fiber optics, 802.11(x) wireless, construction.
• Time management and analytical skills.
• Broad knowledge of Voice, data and video in OIT Communications.
• Excellent written and communication skills.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• PMP certification preferred.
• Experience in large scale enterprise IT communications design preferred.
• Knowledge of IT construction methodology and project management.

• Develop project plans within constraints of schedule, budget, quality, resources, risk, and scope
• Evaluate project budgets and schedules
• Communicate progress to project team members and stakeholders

Requirements

• Experience managing IT projects such as data wiring, fiber optics, 802.11(x) wireless, construction

• Broad working knowledge of all three disciplines within the OIT Communications group: Voice, data and video
• Excellent written and communication skills
• Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without need for sponsorship for employment-based visa status.
• Certified PMP (preferred)
• Minimum four years’ experience in large scale enterprise IT communications design (preferred)
• Knowledge of information technology, information systems, IT Construction methodology and project management via formal education (preferred)
