Job summary

Ports North is looking for a Scrum Master to lead Agile ceremonies and ensure effective practices within the IAM Engineering team based in California. This role involves facilitating collaboration and managing sprint execution to optimize delivery outcomes.

The ideal candidate will have 3-5+ years in Agile delivery, strong skills in communication and facilitation, and experience with Agile tools like Jira. Certifications in Scrum or SAFe are preferred.

The Identity and Access Management (IAM) Engineering team is hiring talented contributors for innovative projects that will help power and secure our businesses and guest experiences. Responsibilities
  • Facilitate all Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and sprint reviews
  • Ensure consistency and effectiveness of Scrum practices across IAM delivery teams
  • Support teams in defining sprint goals and maintaining alignment to IAM priorities
  • Reinforce Agile ways of working, ensuring adherence to agreed team cadence and processes
  • Track team capacity, velocity, and sprint progress to ensure predictable delivery outcomes
  • Coordinate with Engineering Managers and Product Owners to balance BAU, project work, and unplanned demand
  • Ensure backlog readiness by partnering with Product Owners and supporting backlog refinement activities
  • Maintain visibility into delivery commitments, timelines, and dependencies
  • Identify, track, and proactively resolve blockers impacting team performance
  • Manage dependencies across IAM domains (e.g., IGA, PAM, Authentication, Directory Services)
  • Escalate risks, issues, and delivery constraints to appropriate stakeholders to ensure timely resolution
  • Support governance of risks and issues to maintain delivery continuity
  • Act as a central coordination point across engineering, product, security, and operations teams
  • Provide transparent delivery reporting, including sprint progress, risks, and outcomes
  • Participate in leadership updates, delivery reviews, and cross-team planning activities
  • Ensure alignment between delivery execution and IAM strategic priorities
  • Drive actionable retrospective outcomes focused on improving team performance
  • Coach team members on Agile principles, fostering accountability and continuous learning
  • Identify and implement process improvements to optimize delivery efficiency and quality
  • Promote consistent Agile maturity across IAM teams, especially in environments with mixed or evolving practices
Required Qualifications
  • 3-5+ years of experience in Agile delivery, Scrum Master, or Agile Specialist roles
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating Agile ceremonies and managing sprint execution
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, dependencies, and stakeholders in a complex enterprise environment
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Experience using Agile tools (e.g., Jira)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM), SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), or equivalent
  • Experience working in cybersecurity or Identity & Access Management environments
  • Familiarity with IAM domains (Authentication, Authorization, PAM, IGA, Directory Services)
  • Experience supporting large-scale Agile delivery or transformation initiatives
  • CISSP/Security Certifications
