The US West Region is looking for a motivated Senior Project Manager - Highways Roads- Coachella Valley/Inland Empire to support GHD’s established Highways, Roads, Bridges practice throughout California and the US West. We seek a proactive Senior Transportation Project Manager with the skills to elevate our practice in delivering highways, interchanges, local roads, roundabouts, trails / active transportation, bridges, and other vital infrastructure projects.

Through a broad network of clients, GHD handles projects from Federal, State, Regional, County, and Municipal agencies, as well as private sectors. This is a unique opportunity to join a large, well-established organization that promotes teamwork, integrity, and respect. You will collaborate with our skilled multidisciplinary teams and clients to deliver projects efficiently and provide high-value consultancy services.

This position is remote from the Coachella Valley/Inland Empire, with connectivity to our offices across the West Region, especially in California.

Key responsibilities include:

• Project Management: Lead transportation infrastructure projects from conception to completion, including scoping, budgeting, scheduling, and quality control.
• Team Leadership: Lead teams, including subconsultants, fostering collaboration and a positive work environment.
• Client Relationship Management: Engage in client meetings and relationship management activities.
• Technical Guidance and Oversight: Provide expertise on engineering projects, overseeing complex designs, drawings, and specifications.
• Risk Management: Identify and mitigate project risks, resolve conflicts, and address issues.
• Coaching and Mentoring: Develop junior staff skills and knowledge.
• Community and Professional Engagement: Represent the company in community and industry organizations, staying current with industry trends.

What you will bring to the team:

• Experience in transportation project management, especially in highways and roads.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and time management skills.
• Proficiency with project management software and tools.
• Ability to develop project/client proposals and participate in interviews.
• Knowledge of Caltrans and AASHTO standards, PS&E package development.
• Experience with federally and state-funded transportation projects, including Caltrans oversight.
• Ability to delegate work effectively, ensuring project efficiency and schedule adherence.
• Strong professional judgment and commercial acumen, with problem-solving skills.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Registered Civil Engineer in California.
• 12+ years of experience in transportation and municipal engineering, including planning and design; construction experience is a plus.

Salary Range: $138,000 - $207,000 based on experience
