Job summary

The Fordy Group is seeking an experienced Construction Manager/GC-CM to lead bidding, planning, field operations, cost management and project management across the Greater Charlotte Region.

You will develop bid strategies, organize pre-bid meetings, manage budgets, oversee safety plans, and coordinate with architects and engineers to deliver healthcare construction projects valued at $10M+. Strong communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
• 6+ years’ experience in GC/CM Construction Management.
• Healthcare construction experience, ideally on projects of $10 million+.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to support projects across the Greater Charlotte Region.

Responsibilities

• Develop bidders list and analyze subcontractor data and local market capabilities.
• Develop overall bidding strategy for projects.
• Manage distribution of bidding documents and tracking of bidders and bidder data.
• Organize and conduct pre-bid meetings.
• Manage development of work scopes and mentor others on their creation.
• Develop front end bidding documents based on project needs and owner contract requirements.
• Receive/evaluate bids and conduct post-bid reviews.
• Write subcontracts, including professional services or design-assist types.
• Initiate complex project schedules and activity logic with minimal guidance.
• Develop site logistics plans in conjunction with the superintendent.
• Set up cash flow and manpower projections at varying stages of the project.
• Prepare constructability reviews and review estimates for potential gaps.
• Set up jobsite, mobilize staff and equipment.
• Establish and oversee the safety plan and safety culture on site.
• Oversee punchlist processes and labor relations with field personnel.
• Assist with emergency procedures and training.
• Coordinate Mechanical/Electrical overhead coordination or BIM processes.
• Create and manage general conditions budgets and monitor costs monthly.
• Monitor change management processes and assist with owner amendments.
• Support jobsite cash management and payment timeliness.
• Facilitate project team meetings and ensure RFIs/submittals are processed.
