Overview

A leading Fortune 500 company in the airlines and aviation industry is seeking an experienced Senior Project/Program Manager to support strategic finance initiatives. This hybrid role, based in Chicago, IL, requires a highly organized, detail-oriented leader with strong communication skills and a proven ability to manage complex projects in a high-matrix, cross-functional environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Manage the full lifecycle of finance initiatives and programs, from intake through execution and reporting.
2. Ensure alignment of projects with business priorities and expected ROI.
3. Collaborate across departments, including Finance, Digital Technology, and other stakeholder groups.
4. Develop and maintain integrated project plans, schedules, budgets, and risk mitigation strategies.
5. Track milestones and deliverables to ensure projects remain on target.
6. Report initiative performance to stakeholders and leadership.
7. Establish governance processes and manage change management, communications, and training activities.
8. Support UAT and IT implementation from a business-user perspective.
9. Develop business cases as needed and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

• 5+ years of solid project/program management experience.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects within a program framework.
• Proven leadership on initiatives exceeding $2M in budget.
• Experience working within a Fortune 500 or similarly complex enterprise environment.
• Basic understanding of accounting and finance.
• Exceptional organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project, and Word.

Preferred:

• Experience in the aviation or airline industry.
• PMP certification.
• Familiarity with Smartsheet.

• Type: Full-Time, W2 Contract
• Schedule: 40 hours per week
• Pay: $64–$74 per hour (W2 only)
• Benefits: Health, vision, dental, and 401(k) after 60 days
• Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship; no C2C

Pay Range: $64- $74

The specific compensation for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity, and location of the role, as well as the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the candidate.
