Senior Project Manager — Federal & Private Sector Design

Job summary

Barge Design Solutions in Knoxville seeks a Sr. Project Manager to lead multi-discipline design teams across Federal and Private Market sectors, including DoD, DoE, NASA, VA, DOI and more. You will own projects from inception to completion, manage client relationships, provide leadership, and ensure high‑quality solutions.

This role supports design-bid-build or design-build delivery, requires travel <25%, and candidates should have 10+ years of facility design and project management experience, U.S. citizenship, and ability to obtain DOE Q clearance.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Bachelor degree in Architecture or Mechanical/Electrical/Structural engineering from an accredited program.
• PE or RA preferred.
• 10+ years of related multi-discipline facility design and PM experience.
• Experience with Federal agency project delivery.
• Ability to obtain and hold a security clearance (DOE Q Level).
• Strong design and technical credibility.
• Excellent oral, written and graphical communication skills.
• Ability to manage concurrent projects and deadlines.
• Strong teambuilding skills.
• Able to collaborate with other design disciplines.
• Experience with design-build projects preferred.
• Experience with NQA-1 quality assurance processes preferable.
• LEED AP BD+C, PMP or other relevant certifications a plus

Responsibilities

• Acts as primary liaison between client and project team; coordinate events, client meetings, internal project meetings, and final project delivery.
• Executes project management procedures and best practices.
• Provides technical guidance and resolves project problems.
• Leads scope, schedule, and budget management on multiple concurrent projects.
• Assists sales team in business development efforts.
• Delivers project excellence.
• Mentors and builds employee capabilities and trust.
• Develops and maintains positive relationships with clients, officials, contractors and others.
• Meets profitability goals in support of Barge's strategy.
• Travel to project sites and Barge offices may be required (<25%).
