Job summary

Barge Design Solutions, Inc. is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our State Department of Transportation Client Center.

The PM will manage a variety of projects, develop Project Management Plans, and maintain Barge PM procedures while building strong client relationships. You will lead project teams, coordinate client meetings, review reports, and provide technical guidance to keep projects on schedule, within budget, and aligned with our strategic goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an accredited program.
• PE candidates are highly preferred, but PMP candidates without a PE but with the same technical skills will also be considered.
• 6 years of related experience in design/project management.
• Experience working with the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT).
• Strong design and technical credibility.
• Excellent oral, written, and graphical communication skills.
• Ability to effectively manage concurrent projects and deadlines.
• Strong teambuilding skills.
• Able to collaborate with other design disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Execute proper PM procedures with office leadership.
• Develop contracts including subcontracts to comply with company terms.
• Prepare comprehensive Project Management Plans.
• Lead a collaborative work environment and drive positive workplace culture.
• Ensure Quality Program implementation and execution.
• Review project reports and modify as needed.
• Provide technical guidance and resolve project problems.
• Coordinate client and project team meetings and deliver final project to client.
• Occasionally act as a technical lead on projects.
• Develop and maintain positive client relationships.
• Attend leadership meetings.
• Support strategic and business planning activities.
• Perform other duties as requested.

What We're Looking For:

Barge Design Solutions, Inc. is seeking an experienced and talented Project Manager to join our State Department of Transportation Client Center. The main function of PM role is to provide project management services on a variety of projects while maintaining Barge PM procedures, business goals, and objectives. Time is spent developing and managing projects, leading project post-mortem reviews, as well as, executing administrative pieces defined in each contract in a way that results in positive business impact and a great employee experience. This role is expected to establish and build positive client relationships.

Responsibilities:

• Responsibilities include working with office leadership executing proper PM procedures.
• Develops contracts including subcontracts to comply with Barge terms.
• Prepares comprehensive Project Management Plans.
• Leads and facilitates a collaborative work environment and advances initiatives that support a positive workplace culture.
• Ensures Quality Program implementation and execution.
• Reviews project reports and findings. Makes modifications to project as needed.
• Provides technical guidance and resolves project problems.
• Acts as primary agent between client and project team coordinating events, leading client meetings & internal project meetings, and delivery of final project to client.
• On occasion may function as a technical lead on projects.
• Develops and maintains positive relationships with clients, customers, officials, contractors, and others.
• Attends various leadership meetings.
• Supports and implements strategic and business planning activities.
• Performs other duties as requested.
