Job summary

Cianbro is seeking a Sr. Project Manager - Electrical to lead and grow its electrical construction operations across the Mid-Atlantic region.

You will guide project execution, field operations, workforce planning, and safety while partnering with business development to expand market share. The role requires strong leadership, deep electrical construction knowledge, and a track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field, or equivalent industry experience.
• 10-15 years of electrical construction experience preferred.
• Minimum 5 years in project management or leadership roles.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and teams.
• Strong understanding of electrical construction operations, budgeting, forecasting, and financials.
• Demonstrated leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with design-build and negotiated project delivery is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee electrical construction operations including project oversight, staffing, and field performance.
• Coach and support project managers, superintendents, foremen, and field personnel.

The Sr. Project Manager - Electrical is responsible for leading and growing IDM's electrical construction operations throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. This position provides overall leadership for project execution, field operations, workforce planning, financial performance, customer satisfaction, and business development.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of electrical construction operations, including project oversight, staffing, resource allocation, and field performance.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and support to project managers, superintendents, foremen, and field personnel.
• Establish operational goals and drive accountability for safety, quality, schedule, and financial performance.
• Review and monitor project schedules, budgets, forecasts, labor productivity, and risk management plans.
• Ensure projects are executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with customer expectations.
• Manage operational performance, including revenue growth, profitability, backlog, cash flow, and labor utilization.
• Collaborate with estimating, safety, finance, and business development teams to achieve business objectives.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, contractors, engineers, and strategic partners.
• Support business development efforts and identify opportunities for repeat business and market expansion.
• Lead workforce planning, recruiting, employee development, and succession planning initiatives.
• Promote continuous improvement by implementing operational best practices and standardized processes.
• Conduct project reviews and jobsite visits to support successful project outcomes and customer satisfaction.
• Foster a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, or a related field; equivalent industry experience will be considered.
• Preferred candidates should have 10-15 years of electrical construction experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, operations management, or a leadership role.
• Demonstrated success managing multiple projects and project teams.
• Strong understanding of electrical construction operations, project controls, budgeting, forecasting, and financial management.
• Proven leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to build high-performing teams and develop future leaders.
• Strong customer relationship management skills.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout the region.
• Industrial, institutional, manufacturing, power, utility, data center, or mission-critical construction experience preferred.
• Journeyman or Master Electrician background preferred.
• Experience with design-build and negotiated project delivery methods is a plus.
• Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, or similar construction management software preferred.

Compensation is determined based on factors such as experience, knowledge, qualifications, and performance. The compensation range for this position is $2,700 - $3,800 weekly and is exclusive of any other benefit and/or bonus. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical to allow for future and continued growth.
