Job summary

Dewberry’s Raleigh, NC and Orlando, FL offices are seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead MEPS Infrastructure teams delivering electrical, mechanical, and structural design for water and wastewater projects.

You will manage multi‑discipline design efforts, engage with clients, and drive project outcomes while advancing decarbonization and electrification goals. A PE license and 10+ years of experience are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of progressive design and project management experience, with minimum 5+ years in water/wastewater.
  • P.E. licensure in Florida, North Carolina, Virginia, or reciprocity within 90 days of start date.
  • Experience coordinating engineering work and interfacing with other disciplines as needed.
  • Experience interfacing with clients.
  • Self‑motivated with highly developed verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Well organized with knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and process control systems, codes, and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Manage electrical, mechanical, and structural design teams on water/wastewater infrastructure projects for public utilities and private clients.
  • Oversee planning, design, and construction phases and coordinate with other disciplines, technicians, inspectors, and permitting specialists.
  • Coordinate with Design Discipline Managers to schedule, plan and assign personnel.
  • Communicate project expectations to the MEPS Infrastructure team and clients.
  • Prepare design proposals, support pursuits, and engage in client management and business development.
  • Apply earned value and quality management to monitor plans, schedule, and budget; ensure deliverables meet requirements.
  • Support growth of MEPS Infrastructure through conferences, publications, and professional associations.

Key Required Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.

  • Accomplished Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Florida, North Carolina, Virginia, or ability to obtain them through reciprocity within 90 days of start date.

  • Manage planning, design, and construction phase projects while interfacing and coordinating with other engineering disciplines, technicians, inspectors, and permitting specialists.
  • Coordinate with Design Discipline Managers to schedule, plan and assign appropriate personnel.
  • Effectively understand and communicate project expectations to the MEPS Infrastructure project team and client (both internal and external).
  • Prepare design proposals, support project pursuits, and engage in client management and business development activities.
  • Employ earned value and quality management principles to prepare and monitor project work plans, schedule, and budget. Oversee deliverable submission and ensure coordination through all disciplines and consultants involved.
  • Contribute to the continued growth of MEPS Infrastructure through attending conferences, supporting articles professional publications, and actively participating in state and/or national professional associations through committee involvement and technical presentations.

  • 10+ years of progressive design and project management experience, minimum 5+ years in the water/wastewater market.
  • Accomplished Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Florida, North Carolina, Virginia, or ability to obtain them through reciprocity within 90 days of start date.
  • Experience coordinating engineering work and interfacing with other disciplines as needed.
  • Experience interfacing with clients.
  • Self‑motivated with highly developed verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Well organized, with a good understanding of electrical, mechanical, and process control systems with general knowledge of applicable codes, national standards, water/wastewater equipment and plant operation, space requirements, and cost.
